14. The probationary general education teaching permit referred to in paragraph 1 or 2 of section 10 is valid for 5 years and the permit referred to in paragraph 3 or 4 of that section is valid for 10 years; the permits may be renewed for subsequent 5-year periods.
For a person referred to in section 12, 13 or 13.1, the probationary permit is renewable only if the applicant has successfully met all the imposed requirements, except for the probationary period.
Despite the first paragraph, a renewal of a probationary permit following a failed probationary period is valid for one year only.
